This optical pedestrian access turnstile installed in conjunction with any access control system provides valuable assistance to security personnel at any monitored entrance.

This unique, fully motorized, bi-directional optical pedestrian portal is designed to accommodate the handicapped, pedestrians with carts, or other authorized pedestrians requiring a wider walkway.

The Optical Portal is a unique, patented system that incorporates all the advantages of an optical turnstile with a physical barrier. Retractable, clear panels are simultaneously unobtrusive to the authorized user, and an insurmountable obstacle to an intruder by making fraudulent behavior virtually impossible. A programmable logic controller allows the Optical Portal to operate in numerous modes thereby facilitating the uninterrupted passage of large numbers of authorized people, especially important during peak hours. Piggy-backing, jumping the obstacle, and other similar misbehavior can be virtually eliminated. Many safety features are standard, including emergency opening of panels in case of power failure (or other emergency) to allow unimpeded and rapid exit. This product was designed to provide optimum access control function, in an elegant and discreet manner, allowing the Optical Portal to be used in high profile locations.
